Heimdall

Give the world a voice.

Heimdall spots, finds, creates, and assembles Foley, hard effects, ambience, and designed sound into a synchronized tracklay for the final mix.

The sound department

Sound makes the image physical.

The frame shows contact. Sound gives that contact weight, distance, material, space, and consequence. It lets an audience feel the room beyond the edge of the image.

Heimdall treats sound post as a directed craft: spotting where sound belongs, choosing retrieval or generation, shaping proximity and intensity, and knowing when designed silence is more powerful than another layer.

One sound world / visible choices

The system finds and builds. The sound designer shapes what belongs.

Heimdall spots picture, retrieves or generates material, layers effects, and assembles a synchronized tracklay. A human sound supervisor can review every cue, source, placement, intensity, silence, and stem through the same production record.

01 / The workshop

Sound becomes material again.

Close Foley, hard effects, backgrounds, and designed sound answer different physical and dramatic needs. A sound designer can handle those families directly while automation searches, proposes, generates, and places within the same room.

02 / The tracklay

Every effect carries a reason and a time.

SoundCue records connect an exact picture event to category, description, intensity, proximity, source, and provenance. Foley, SFX, BG, and DES stay organized through assembly, premix, and the dubbing stage.

Review is part of the sound pipeline

Heimdall can operate autonomously without making sound post opaque. A supervisor or re-recording mixer can audition, replace, reshape, rebalance, or remove any cue—including choosing silence.

Sound architecture

From visible event to organized effects tracklay.

  1. 01 / PictureLocked OTIO

Frames, motion, script context, narrative waveform, dialogue, and production metadata share one clock.

  2. 02 / ListenSound spotting

SoundCue records identify category, timecode, description, intensity, proximity, and intended silence.

  3. 03 / SourceRetrieve + generate

CLAP library search, Foley generation, ambience synthesis, and layered designed effects answer each cue.

  4. 04 / AssembleTracklay + premix

Foley, hard effects, backgrounds, and designed sounds align, coexist with music, and preserve provenance.

  5. 05 / DeliverEffects stems

Organized timecoded tracks, automation, metadata, and mix-ready audio enter the dubbing stage.

The tracklay

Spot. Build. Place.

01 / Spot

Listen before making.

Picture, script, motion, narrative waveform, and production context identify the moments that need sound—and those that need restraint.

02 / Build

Choose the right source.

Foley, semantic library retrieval, neural ambience, and layered designed effects answer different physical and dramatic needs.

03 / Place

Make sound inhabit time.

Every cue carries category, intensity, provenance, spatial intent, and SMPTE alignment into an organized effects tracklay.

The handoff

Every layer meets at the dubbing stage.

Heimdall receives

Locked picture, motion, story shape, and acoustic intent.

Its work remains coordinated with Bragi through Mimir, allowing score and effects to share space without reading each other's private state.

Heimdall delivers

Foley, effects, ambience, and designed sound.

Timecoded BWF stems and an AAF tracklay join Saga's dialogue and Bragi's score. The completed master returns to Mimir.
